Happy to be here in the open-ecosystem - I am Mark Tomlinson, long-time performance tester and engineer and sometimes a guest on the Pure Performance podcast.

I am currently working with an amazing team of performance and observability engineers at FreedomPay after a lifetime career in various roles at companies like Microsoft, HP Software, PayPal.

Nowadays I spend my spare cycles coaching, training and consulting on modern performance testing and observability strategies - promoting good practices for better performing technology systems.

  • :wrench: Building autonomous operations and learning about the human capacity for change

  • :bullseye: Here for the snacks and keeping up with modern tech tooling & techniques

  • :radio: Finally launching a new podcast in 2026 (after sleeping on it for years)

  • :guitar: Also I’m a closet musician who would much rather be a rock star than an IT nerd

Haha I read all the way down to kind of get to know you. Meeting and learning from/with other people is the best thing about communities for me :smiley:
